Everyone meet Jacen. If I could put one word to this guy it would be laughter. Just last night on our road trip he had the whole car just cackling. He brings so much joy through laughter to so many people, especially me. On top of that his genuine kindness and pure intentionality is an outpouring of the Spirit living inside of him. Jacen is one of my best friends here at Liberty and I’m so excited to share his fun-loving story.
So, Jacen Hamilton who are you?
I’m a Jesus lovin’ southern boy that loves people, outdoors, & coffee.
Where did you grow up?
Jamestown, North Carolina.
What’s your favorite color?
Tennessee Orange. It’s my favorite team.
Random Facts About Jacen:
I have a Youtube video with 3 million views.
I’ve spent 6 months in Australia.
I had shoes that had wheels and I rode them on the Great Wall of China.
I don’t have a taste for ‘good coffee’, I just drink it black.
While playing golf I hit a goose one time and it died.
What did you want to be when you were little?
A Professional Baseball Player. Obviously didn’t happen.
Something that best describes you?
Stick of Dynamite. My golf coach always used to say to me, “A small amount makes a big impact.”
When did you find Jesus?
I was seven years old at VBS when I remember the guy beside me giving his life to Christ and this lady pressuring me. Yet, I went home and knelt by my bed that night and truly gave my life to Jesus there.
How did you get to Liberty?
In high school, I played golf on and off. Senior year my team won nationals in Missouri. I then decided to come to Liberty, but not play. It is so cool to know the Lord led me here because of golf though.
Why do you want to be a pastor?
In youth group, I had the opportunity to teach to others. That’s when I felt the Lord leading me towards youth ministry. It’s so funny because when I was young, I told my mom I never wanted to be a pastor or missionary.
Favorite Passages of Scripture:
1 Corinthians 16:13
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”
--This scripture portrays the man I want to be. I want to do everything through His love DAILY and truly be the man that God’s called me to be. I don’t want to be passive, out to lunch kind of people. I want to be like my dad, he was such a great example of the man I want to be.
What is a passion you have?
Jesus. Youth. Fishing. Making Money. Outdoors. Coffee. Biblestudy.
How we met:
We met at Passion 2013 through mutual friends and there we found out our dorms were right across from each other. Once we came back to Liberty from Winter Break that semester became unforgettable as our friends became close and did everything together.
What does being radiant mean to you?
Loving others on a daily basis. Trying to follow the example of Jesus. Maturing in my faith by loving everyone.

Jace, I’ll tell ya right now that I respect men more because of the way you have treated me. You have displayed a brotherly love towards your sisters here at Lib, one that is selfless and encouraging. You take the time to be intentional with me, asking me about my day or asking about things you know have me worried. Yes, you make me laugh. I love watching when you and Grayson get on a roll goofing off, giving the rest of us a comedy show. We missed you dearly when you were in Australia for 6 months with YWAM, but it was only a testament to what you really mean to our friend group. We deeply missed your R A D I A N C E of Jesus Christ.
